They are getting better and that's what counts. In the past, the service has been devastatingly slow and deplorable at best. As some of their baristas have come and gone over the last couple years, I have no choice but to say they've really tried to collectively improve their service and speed. There are many things and reasons why I can't give them the full seal of approval. Today, they ran out of caramel topping. Another day, I was over charged, and another, it took about 25 minutes to get one drink. This Starbucks is by Valley Fair Mall, City Hall, TRAX, and Embassy Suites, among many other employers and communities. I can only hope that as the demand for better service ensues, these guys get it together.

This place is a hit or miss! There are great days where it's 4-5 stars and then there are just awful days where it's closer to 2 stars! It really depends on the staff working that day, and it's always inconsistent unless you get the good baristas. I used to love this place and it was my favorite Starbucks because it was closest to home & my barista would constantly serve samples when there was downtime, she'd remember my regular, know my name, and just the whole shabang. Then I started going at different times when my favorite barista wasn't working anymore...that's when I realized why this location has such low ratings. There seems to be a calibration issue. Situations are dealt with differently depending on which barista you have. I'm not just talking about how they pour drinks or serve pastries either. Example: There are times when they run out of coffee, and either 1) great barista: offers direct pour 2) good barista: offers americano 3) says they're out--tough luck. The worst was one time 30 minutes before closing when they turned off the lights. Who does that?! It's just so rude! I get that it's Sunday night, and sure they want to go home, but at least give a verbal warning rather than shutting off the lights! Anywho, I'll still come here due to its proximity to my "sleep" place and probably camp out here short of my orange suit chained to my laptop, notebook, and positive chronotropic beverage. If you're in the area & wanting an sbux drink, come here...but I wouldn't go out of my way to get the services & goods from this particular spot.

I don't have much to say about this location because my interaction with the oh-so-helpful barista was quite brief. Was staying at the Embassy Suites next door and the kids wanted a hot chocolate...I went in about 5 minutes before closing. Barista was chatting with a male, she glances up at me and says, "Oh, I meant to lock that door..." Then returns to her deep conversation with the male. Now, I totally understand it is close to closing time but... #1: you close at 9:00, not 8:55 and #2: there is a different way to communicate that you have already closed up shop for the night. I really don't expect a lot from Starbucks, fortunately Yelp led me to another location a couple miles a way where the service was stellar.

No, I don't like this location at all. I can just go down the street to another Starbucks.

Starbucks is always good. It's consistent and I love it. This location is great because it's convenient and for some reason getting in and out is easier than some others. The staff is always very friendly as well. One of my favorite locations.

Most pathetic showing of incompetence I've ever seen.... They ran out of Pike coffee at 7am. Either not enough staff or they're just not very good. No wonder people try to avoid this location if they can.

This Starbucks can get really busy on the weekends, but the line is never unbearably long. Since it gets pretty packed, there often isn't a place to sit or some of the tables can be a little dirty. I've never had any issues with an order or redeeming any of my special email offers, so that's definitely a plus.

I am a Starbucks -freak- I love it all, I've had everything on the menu twice, its not hard to get me to like a Starbucks location. This one is horrible. No drive through, service is ridiculous, barely any seating, unfriendly staff.

I never thought I'd be writing such a glowing review about a shop anywhere west of the Trax lines. But hey, even Brigham said one day there would be a million people living on the west side. No kidding, learned that in a religion class at BYU. Now, I'm drinking coffee like a heathen. He forgot to mention the coffee shops popping up there too. Now granted this is west of the Jordan so we look to a well-established purveyor of the Devil's brew to drink with our red-districting. This review is about the experience because, well, its still Starbucks coffee, and as they say in the boat business, any port in a storm. And when you don't have many ports to slip into for a little fun, you go to... Starbucks. Well, if your mind was slipping into somewhere else, remember this is a family-oriented review. Hah. These guys have taken the golden foam spoon from our friends over on 7th east. If you don't feel like you want to be hanging out there all day when you first walk in, you will by the time your drink is ready. I go here with work colleagues. We have cutesy little names for each other at work to make up for the lack of human interaction we often suffer on any given day. So, if you're in line and hear, "Hey Kitten Princess, Hi Poodle King," as new guests walk in, you know you found me out. If you ask, maybe they'll draw crowns on your cup lids, too. No matter what, these guys will brew you the best Starbucks has to offer and deliver it with a friendly smile.

Great place to connect near Valley Fair Mall. Friendly staff who were efficient and kept the store clean and nice. It's a great standby when you can't get to your local favorite.
